Happy Mag’s Needle in the Hay competition is back, and it’s time to put your best foot forward. Early bird entries for Needle in the Hay 2023 are open right now, and we’re calling all artists with killer singles in the demo phase or just released something red hot. This is your chance to make your mark on the music scene.
The grand prize is none other than having your winning single pressed onto vinyl by the legendary Zenith Records in Melbourne. But wait, there’s more! Over $30,000 in runner-up prizes are yet to be announced, so stay tuned for more info there soon.
This year’s judging panel is made up of Australian and New Zealand industry figureheads from various music-making, radio, media, and live events disciplines. We’ve doubled the size of the panel to better represent the growing diversity of artists entering their music into NITH.
Now in its seventh year running, Needle In The Hay continues to grow bigger and better with every new installment. Previous alumni include Tones and I, Spacey Jane, Haiku Hands, The Lazy Eyes, The Buoys, and last year’s winner Beckah Amani.
