Olympia announces Tourists headline shows

After releasing her new single and accompanying video for Tourists, Melbourne pop songstress Olympia has also announced a short run of headline dates to launch the new track.

Olympia Tourists tour

Speaking of the single, Olympia aka Olivia Bartley said “This song was inspired by a piece by artist Jenny Holzer, ‘ In a dream you saw a way to survive and you were full of joy’. I was having terrible dreams at the time of writing the album. I was flicking through old notebooks and Holzer’s quote struck me like cordite, flicking a switch between the internal and external. I’d dragged all my writing notes to Phillip Island and  let myself succumb to experience in itself: the feeling of sun on your hand; sand and sticks at your feet. The song is written from that vista – looking out from the sand dunes with the sun going down, right before you make your way back home in the dark.”

Tourists is the third single Bartley has released this year following Honey and This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things. She’ll be heading out on tour at the end of November, so be sure to visit her website for all the show deets.
