Rostam Batmanglij, one of the four founding members of Vampire Weekend, has announced that he has quit the band.
Taking to his twitter to make the statement, Batmanglij has stated that he has left in order to focus more on his solo career and that there is no animosity between him and the other members, saying further that he and frontman Ezra Koenig will continue to collaborate.
Last year, Koenig said that Vampire Weekend were definitely working on a new album, though it would be a while until we saw any new material, stating that the band were “not in any rush to dive into making a new album.”
