Ironically enough, DIET. have not been great for my health. Instead of going for a run this morning, or even going to the gym, I’ve been lounging around listening to their belter of a new track Danny Boy.
Trust me. After one listen, you’re going to be adding this to your ‘Sunday arvo beers’ playlist too.
Danny Boy takes a timeless brit-pop feel and weaves it seamlessly into relaxed, feel-good Australiana vibes. The track is warm, fuzzy, and features one of the most insanely infectious lead guitar lines you’ll ever hear.
Might have to postpone that cleanse; Melbourne band DIET.’s new track Danny Boy will make you want to sit around and sink a few cold ones.
About an interstate phone call between two brothers, Danny Boy will melt your damn heart.
The song’s music video was created by Nicholas Griffith (Big White, High-tails, Bored Shorts), and presents the band as bowling pins, who are subsequently bowled down.
“This being my second animated music video ever, I wanted to keep the hand drawn texture of my first video (see High-tails’ Bubblegum) and combine it with digital tweening giving the scenes cinematic smoothness and surreal, dream like movement,” Griffith says.
“One of my greatest challenges in designing the characters was defining the colour palette. Who would have thought a traditional skin coloured bowling pin would be so frighteningly grotesque!”
If you feel like off-loading some stress, watch the new video above.
