PREMIERE: RMJ shares immersive new single Anybody (Quite Like You)

We first stumbled across the incredible songwriting abilities of Ryan Martin John last year with his single Wright Street Lights. The South Australian singer-songwriter’s music has an undeniably endearing quality that we were immediately drawn to.

Now, fresh of a slight rebranding – he now performs under the name RMJ – we’re absolutely stoked to be premiering his new single Anybody (Quite Like You).

On his incredibly immersive new track Anybody (Quite Like You), Adelaide artist RMJ rips apart all musical boundaries to craft a song that’ll seep deep into your bones.

While his folky vocals hooks and warm instrumentation remain strong, RMJ has further refined his sound to deliver something far more immersive and ethereal than past releases.

On the new track, John weaves together elements of folk, indie-rock, and psych to craft a sound that’s uniquely his own.

As the song simmers through gritty guitars, air-tight percussion, and effortlessly cool vocal delivery, Anybody (Quite Like You) creates a strange feeling of disorientation – one that you’ll quickly become addicted to.

This RMJ’s first single under this new alias, and the rebrand has seen the songwriter adopt a new sonic scope that feels entirely boundless. While these are still early days in this new phase of his career, we can’t wait to hear what comes next.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above, and catch RMJ live at any of the following dates:
