Melbourne art rock group Tulalah have released a new single Cycles ahead of their upcoming November residency at The Gasometer. It’s an ethereal and bliss soaked take on sombre orchestral movements, pushing their sound into a reflective contemporary sphere.
Cycles is an all encompassing tour of the group’s songwriting capabilities as well as their understanding of beautiful sonic landscapes. Can you tell we like it?
What we love about Cycles from Tulalah is that for all it’s simplicity and low energy, you are completely captured from beginning to end.
Cycles takes you into an organic sphere of wonder, perfectly matched to their grounded yet imaginative aesthetic as a band. Tulalah have articulated the simple allure of the natural environment in a single song, an impressive feat to say the least.
The track doesn’t distract you from what you’re doing, rather causes you to engage further, pulling you deeper into your own thinking. As a band, Tulalah is wondrously creative and filled with depth and intent.
Having received recognition from the likes of Giles Peterson (BB6), Paul Gough (ABC Radio National) and Mike Gurrieri (PBS/Equinox Recordings) their unique and multi instrumental brand of alt rock is now making waves beyond their roots in Victoria. The world needs more complex and emotional music, and Tulalah is ready to fill that void.
Their Gasometer residency is set to start on the first Wednesday of November and continue each Wednesday thereafter for the month. Showcasing not only this single but a bunch of music off of their recently released sophomore album, there no better time to see a live set.
With supports from Clio, Orcha, Tilman Robinson and Lewis Coleman, the band has really delivered the whole package. Grab the details here.
