RAYN unveils her irresistibly sultry new single OMM

There’s something undeniably hypnotic about the music of RAYN. The Sydney singer-songwriter (formerly known as Kyrah) has crafted a sound that feels simultaneously intimate and expansive; it’s grounded it pop hooks, but stretches effortlessly out into something far greater.

With the release of her new single OMM, she immediately establishes her penchant for crafting immersive and sultry R&B gems. If you’re not already familiar with this artist, we strongly recommend you quickly change that.

On her new single OMM, Sydney singer-songwriter RAYN crafts an effortlessly energetic and sultry slice of immersive R&B.

Throughout the new single RAYN glides through an irresitibly infectious blend of soul, pop, and R&B to deliver something unquely her own. With glassy production, euphoric guitar flourishes, and soaring vocal hooks, OMM is oozing with musical charm.

Over the course of the song’s near-five-minute run-time, a sprawling sonic universe is created. OMM is the kind of song you can dance around inside of—it’s completely transfixing.

“When I was writing OMM, I really wanted to be able to express my sexuality as a woman. I think some women are still very uncomfortable to talk about sex in fear they might be judged or shamed,” RAYN says of the new single.

“I had been writing a lot of heart break/love songs so when the idea came into my mind, I wanted to celebrate those feelings instead of ignoring them. On my mind is a bit of a cheeky way of saying I want you.”

These still may be early days in this next phase of RAYN’s career, but judging by the quality of what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
