Save the date! It’s time to tell your bosses that you’re going to be cough cough sick. Splendour In The Grass is back for another year, and as per usual, takes place at North Byron Parklands and towards the tail-end of July.
The festival will run from Friday the 19th to Sunday the 21st. Campsites will be accessible from Wednesday the 17th.
The official dates for this year’s Splendour In The Grass are here! Ask your colleagues to cover your shifts between July 19th and July 21st (and maybe take the Monday off work too, you maniac).
Last year’s Splendour In The Grass saw the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Lorde, Henry Rollins and Franz Ferdinand lead an all-star cast of local and international acts over the three-day bonanza.
There have been no official lineup drops for this year just yet, but people are predicting that perhaps Tame Impala may make an appearance; with their new album on its way, plus a string of festival slots lined up over the year so far, perhaps their SITG comeback in on the cards. Watch this space.
Splendour In The Grass is one of the festivals that make up the Australian Festival Association (AFA) that, among other things, are calling for the government to implement pill testing in response to the five drug-related deaths at festivals over the past couple of months.
Stay tuned for the full lineup announcement in a few months’ time.
