Featuring The Jesus and Mary Chain, Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub, Teenage Superstars is an upcoming music doco tracking the rise of Scottish independent labels throughout the 80s.
Truth is, we’ll take a look at anything with The Jesus and Mary Chain involved… unashamedly. Check out the trailer and some more info below.
Hark back to the independent sound of the Scottish 80s with Teenage Superstars, a new doco from the team who brought us The Big Gold Dream.
The documentary focuses on Glasgow in the 80s and includes interviews with some of the people behind Creation Records, Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, the Jesus and Mary Chain, and Primal Scream.
“This is a film that shows people what they can achieve when they break the rules,” McPhee said in a press release.
To complete the project, the film’s creators have launched a crowd funding campaign. They seek £20,000 or over $25,000. Besides posters, mugs, and other memorability, a donation of £1250 will earn backers an associate producer credit. – Pitchfork.
