The Baby Breaks list 5 Brisbane bands to keep an eye on

Earlier this month, when Brisbane-based five-piece The Baby Breaks dropped their latest single One Handed Clap, they immediately became one of our favourite Brissy bands.

So fresh off the track’s release, we found it fitting to ask them for a list of their favourite Brissy bands.

Hot off the release of their chaotic new single One Handed Clap, we asked The Baby Breaks to share a list of five Brisbane bands you should be keeping an eye on.

Pastelle – Last Night

Pastelle are the hidden British indie-rock gem you’ve been searching for, buried in the heart of Brisbane. Check out their track Last Night on Spotify while sitting tight for their new single come May 2019.

The Stilts – Lotus Eater

The Stilts are Brisbane’s answer to the rebirth of early indie music, the influence of Pixies never strays too far from our mind. We consider The Stilts sound to be one of the most unqiue in Brisbane and you’ll find yourself singing their melodies weeks after catching their live performances.

The Bonnie Doons – Blue and Yellow

2019 has so far been the year of the Breaks and the Doons. We’ve played more shows with these guys than any other band and for good reason, The Bonnie Doons have just dropped their debut EP Face To Face and it’s phenomenal. Stream Blue and Yellow on Spotify or catch them at our One Handed Clap single launch in Rics Backyard on April 20th.

Big Whoops – Slither

Big Whoops once gave me the ability to grow chest hair at a live performance and Gus (bassist) considers them literally schooner dropping in their live delivery. Big Whoops are the Brisbane alternative rock band we wish we discovered earlier but glad we ever found at all – stream Slither on Spotify if you know what’s right for you.

Kurilpa Reach – Fools Fall

Want an adult serving of psych, rock, reggae and funk? You’re chasing Kurilpa Reach, our favorite Brisbane act right now. KR are the band you need to keep an eye on. If you’re not quite sold or slightly delusional just remember Russell O’connell once said ‘they’re off their f*@king biscuit’, need we say more?

One Handed Clap is available now. Listen here.
