The Big Moon has given us a big swoon with their latest single ‘Wide Eyes’

Thank you lucky stars because The Big Moon are back with a fresh new single and a forthcoming album, Here Is Everything.

It’s been a couple of years since we have heard from the alt-pop London foursome and along with their creamy new single, The Big Moon announced they will release their third album on October 14.

The band led by Jules Jackson along with Soph Natha, Celia Archer and Fern Ford totally knocked it out of the park with the new single Wide Eyes. It’s got all The Big Moon energy we’re used to with its intelligent writing and infectious melodies.

Wide eyes the big moon

Wide Eyes is basically a song about love, friendship and support and if you’re like me, as soon as you watch the gorgeous music video you’ll have to call all of your favourite girlies to tell them you love them.

The Big Moon vocalist, Jules spoke about where she was in her life when the song came about: “I was desperate to write a really big, happy song. My soul was overflowing with the joy of something but I was too physically and mentally exhausted to actually string words together and define it and make music with it.

“In late 2021, I met Jessica Winter who came into my life like an angel and helped me turn those jumbled feelings into a song and I think it’s just a mad snapshot of a time when life just felt huge and holy and raw and incredible.

“I was nursing a five-month-old baby, I was barely sleeping, I was losing my hair, I was pumping and sweating and crying and lonely and only just about coping, but amongst all that, I felt a burning love and a new kind of happiness. I guess the world felt innocent again. For a while anyway.

“For me, this song feels so personal but when Soph, Celia and Fern stepped in, it turned into something bigger, and it feels like friendship and promise – we have loved every minute of being back together and doing what we do.

“With this song I get to spend three and a half minutes in that place and that time, and I’m so glad I have it and I’m so glad I get to share it with people.”

The music video very literally portrays that notion of barely keeping yourself together until your support network rocks up and it’s honestly guaranteed to get you right in the feels.

The girls spend the entire video doing what must be the world’s longest friendship handshake and it is pure goosebumps.

The Big Moon’s upcoming album Here Is Everything is set to be a more in-depth conversation about Jule’s new journey into motherhood.

The singer actually documented all of her feelings as she awaited her baby’s arrival and the rest of the band took her notes and frameworks and built them into an entire album of songs.

If this single is anything to go by, Here Is Everything is set to be an emotional rollercoaster set in rolling fields of brilliant music.
