The Con reveals new Bachelors program with a free seminar series hosted by Jake Stone

The Conservatorium of Music is revealing a new focus in music education via New Directions at The Con. The Con will be introducing its new Bachelor of Music with a series of free seminars with industry experts, all hosted by Jake Stone from Bluejuice.

The first two seminars will be presented alongside a slew of reputable and celebrated names in Australian music including artists from Hermitude, Boy & Bear, Thundamentals and I Know Leopard.

There has been a significant transformation made to the course, including the addition of four new programs, Contemporary Music Practice, Digital Music and Media, Creative Music and Improvised Music.

The degree is geared towards the changing landscape of the music industry and caters to those whose focus lies in the online and digital sphere, as much as it does bourgeoning young bands.

The final seminar will be driven by input from media hosts, producers and managers, who will be commenting on the every changing complexities of the industry and realities that lie ahead. This session will feature the likes of Alistair Green (MAKER Agency), Veronica & Lewis (Triple J) and Lucy Smith (FBi) amongst others.

The seminars will run over the course of three months on the 26th of August, 8th of September and 27th of October.
