While fans have been speculating a July release, Tyler the Creator has announced his forthcoming album IGOR will be out this month, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Fans have gone crazy over a pair of teaser videos, which prove the Californian rapper is as visually artistic as he is musical. Building the anticipation, Tyler the Creator has announced the follow-up to his 2017 LP Flower Boy arrives May 17 via Columbia.
IGOR will be the rapper and producer’s sixth full-length album and might mark a new artistic transition for him.
In addition to the two album artworks, Tyler dropped two video snippets teasing the latest music. However, he is yet to give us a full-length song from the album.
Since releasing Flower Boy, Tyler has stayed busy, dropping his Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch EP in 2018. Also last year, he shared a few one-off tracks OKRA, 435, and Peach Fuzz, being some impressive songs among others.
Although Tyler the Creator has already received critical success with his previous outings the rapper Tyler has been envisioning new goals for IGOR. Tyler has revealed that one of these goals is more radio play, suggesting that perhaps Tyler will present less controversial lyrics in IGOR.
All will be revealed when IGOR drops on May 17 but for now, we are enjoying the ambiguity.
