WA’s biggest annual celebration of local music, artists, bands and producers, WAMFest is on again for another year, with the main events happening between 1-3 November.
On top of that, the WAMAwards will be held at The Hyatt Regenncy, Perth on the 31st October whilst WAMCon will take place at the State Theatre Centre of WA on the 1st and 2nd of November. The festival has also announced they have a new Festival Director, Mark Neal who is a prominent figure in WA’s amazing music scene.
WA’s much-loved music festival WAMFest have announced October and November dates as well as new festival director Mark Neal.
Neal (The Sewing Room, Blue Grey Pink, Beaufort St Songwriters Club) has been a part of the WAMFest coordinating team for two years, and is ready to step up to the directing challenge. He said:
“I’m excited to be back on board again this year… WA is full of great music! It’s exciting and it’s diverse. This an excellent musical community and I want to honour it by providing an overall better festival experience for everyone involved.”
Also joining him is Claire Hodgson, who is the coordinator of WAMCon again for 2019. She said:
“There will be a greater focus on sustainability, community and creativity this year, with the event again being housed at the beautiful State Theatre Centre of WA as part of WAMFest. With practical, bespoke, and future-focused sessions to support music makers and businesses to get their music to the next level, we can’t wait!”
The music summit has previously hosted a number of incredible WA artists including Methyl Ethel, Stella Donnelly, Pyschedelic Porn Crumpets, Tired Lion and Carla Geneve.
