Watch Iggy Pop eat a hamburger in new Death Valley Girls video

Los Angeles punk band Death Valley Girls have announced a new album titled Darkness Rains. It’ll be out this October, but to whet our appetites, the band have released a new video featuring Iggy Pop nonchalantly eating a hamburger.

The video – made for the track Disaster (Is What We’re After) – is a recreation of a scene in Jørgen Leth’s 1982 film 66 Scenes of America, which features Andy Warhol eating a hamburger in a similar manner.

Watch Iggy Pop recreate an old Andy Warhol clip in Death Valley Girls’ awesome new video for Disaster (Is What We’re After).

We’re strong believers in opti-mysticism and connecting with people through rock n’ roll,” Death Valley Girls say of the new video.

Having Iggy dig our music was more than amazing for us. When Kansas (director) told us she had a dream about recreating the ‘Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger’ short film but with Iggy starring for our music video, we were cautiously excited about the possibility. Next thing we know we’re in Miami with Iggy himself, and a rock n’ roll dream became reality!”

Darkness Rains will be released October 5th through Suicide Squeeze Records. For now, do yourself a favour and watch the new video above.
