Everyone’s favourite puppet, Kermit The Frog, took to the stage over the weekend at Newport Folk Festival.
During a rendition of the classic Muppet Movie tune, Rainbow Connection, Kermit invited My Morning Jacket’s, Jim James on stage and played out the song as a duet.
Kermit The Frog surprised a huge crowd at Newport Folk Festival over the weekend alongside Jim James and Janet Weiss, peppering a bit of magic over proceedings.
Kermit and friends made a surprise appearance at Newport Folk Festival over the weekend taking everyone on a beautiful journey t0 their childhood. Kermit performed alongside a band that included ex Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss.
During a rendition of the classic tune, Rainbow Connection, Kermit invited My Morning Jacket’s, Jim James on stage for a duet, highlighting the performance.
Janet Weiss announced her departure from Sleater-Kinney earlier this month, however, Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker will continue the rollout of their latest album, The Center Won’t Hold. The record is being produced by St Vincent who worked closely with the outfit to craft the sound of the album.
As for My Morning Jacket, Jim James is working on the release of a new deluxe version of their 1999 debut album Tennessee Fire. They will be playing two shows at Red Rocks on August 2nd and 3rd to celebrate the release.
