Winter NAMM 2021 is cancelled, ‘Believe in Music’ virtual event announced

The musical instrument and tech industry’s favourite trade show, Winter NAMM, is yet another major gathering cancelled due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic with its January 2021 event called off.

The show was set to go down in Anaheim, California, but organisers have quickly switched gears to a virtual online event with the fitting title ‘Believe in Music’ – a week-long extravaganza.NAMM, Covid, Virtual, event, 2021, January

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Winter NAMM has been cancelled. There is a silver lining, however, with the announcement of a virtual show: ‘Believe in Music’.

While NAMM President and CEO, Joe Lamond, lamented the unsafe environment which prohibits the traditional NAMM mass gathering, he said of the replacement event “Believe in Music week will use new, intuitive technology to connect us all to harness the incredible energy that happens when we come together”.

2020’s event raised the bar for innovation and excitement in new music tech. The Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal wowed reverb connoisseurs with its infrared optical sensors; the release of the SSL 2 and 2+ audio interfaces offered a world-class signal chain for home studios with state of the art preamps and plugins; Orange shrunk their sound down to the Tiny Terror Stamp pedal, to mention just a few.

If that’s anything to go off, 2021’s ‘Believe in Music’ event will deliver its own highlights in an accessible week-long virtual online event. To register your interest, visit the website.
