Would you hang out in a spooky amusement park? Waxahatchee does in La Loose video

The lovely Katie Crutchfield AKA Waxahatchee has unveiled her new video for La Loose, a twisted and surreal visit to an abandoned amusement park.

Waxahatchee amusement park

The dreamy clip was directed by Naomi Yang, a photographer and film maker who has made music videos for the likes of Julia Holterm Neutral Milk Hotel and Houndmouth. Speaking of the video for La Loose Yang said “La Loose is a song of love and longing, though dark at its edges with feelings of ambivalence. I wanted the video to be a visual equivalent to the song lyric, ‘a charming picture of hysteria in love’—a spinning emotional kaleidoscope of desire and rejection, adoration and anger, hope and despair. For this reason I set the video in mirror-twin locations: an abandoned, haunted amusement park and a thriving farm out of a beautiful dream.

La Loose comes from Waxahatchee’s album Ivy Tripp, which was released earlier this year to much acclaim. She will be touring the US in December before heading to Australia for a pair of shows, the first since her debut solo shows a few months ago. Next year’s shows will see Waxahatchee perform with a full band,  you can find all the details and ticket info here.
