Fans are hungry for the finale.
After an explosive season finale in 2025, fans were finally given a release date on Friday for the highly anticipated fourth season of Yellowjackets.
Paramount+ will debut the final instalment of the show on November 20 for premium account holders.
Before the release of the second season, the show was in talks for five seasons, but it was confirmed that 2026 will see the end of the series.
Showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson said in the Season 4 announcement statement via Instagram, “We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job – our responsibility – is to listen.”
This season will see the return of Emmy-nominated Melanie Lynskey (Shauna), Christina Ricci (Misty), Tawny Cypress (Taissa) and Sophie Thatcher (Natalie), among more of the star-studded cast.
Season 3 was the most-watched season in the show’s history, despite having the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of 84%.
With that season boasting the highest kill count yet, this may be even harder for fans than the return after adult Natalie’s (Juliette Lewis) tragic death in Season 2.
The finale, ‘Full Circle’, was the most-watched episode to date, answering key questions dating back to Season 1, as well as teasing what’s to come.
We wrapped up the last season with fan-favourite Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) finally contacting the outside world, while the rest of the teenagers engaged in a feral hunt.
This means that the gap will close between the two storylines, and we will see the end of the girls’ time in the wilderness.
The teaser description for Season 4 reads: “As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own, turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one’s going to sting.”
Both storylines seemingly revolve around the psychological descent of Shauna (Melanie Lynskey).
Her epic reveal as the ‘Antler Queen’ in Season 3, as well as her family’s abandonment of her in the present timeline, have left viewers excitedly awaiting her character’s climax in both timelines.
Lyle and Nickerson reflected on their time with Yellowjackets with their heartfelt finale announcement, writing, “Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us, and we’re so very grateful to the brilliant cast, crew and writers who have bravely gone on the journey with us to bring it to life.”
