Melbourne resident Scott Graham is taking flight as a solo act, riding high off his sterling latest single Little Minds.
While the opening bars would have you believe Little Minds is a love song, the track harbours a deeper, and altogether more important message.
“The song was born out of my frustration of the continuous news cycle of innocent people suffering in war torn parts of the world and the apparent inaction of the people in power to recognise the root cause of these problems,” says Scott. “The song is both a protest and a call to action”.
It’s a sense of frustration that we’re all a little too familiar with at this point. 2017 was the year everyone wrote a song about the world ending, and it’s this neverending narrative that Graham has latched his poetic mind onto.
Little Minds is release of pent-up bitterness, delivered with an addictive blues edge. It’s a cry for the small minds in power to see the bigger picture, and consider the damage they’re doing to the world. Graham’s raw emotion is weaved tragically through the entire track, making for one enthralling listen indeed.
It’s a somewhat tough subject matter to feel delighted about, for sure. But isn’t that what the blues are for?
