Last month, when we first stumbled across The Impersonators‘ single Broken Snow, we were immediately immersed in their hook-driven, pop rock sounds. The band craft deeply addictive slices of music that we guarantee will be stuck in your head for days.
Now, to celebrate the spooky season of Halloween, the band have released an equally great new single in the form of Effigy; a menacing new track that will rope you in and leave you hanging on every word.
In celebration of Halloween, The Impersonators have delivered their new single Effigy; a captivating four minutes of music filled with dark and menacing subtext.
Throughout the new single, The Impersonators (made up of Tommi Tikka and Antti Autio) navigate an unnerving concoction of moody sound effects and unholy instrumentation to craft a song that will crawl beneath your skin and stay there for weeks.
While this new single is starkly different from their last single Broken Snow, it still fits into the band’s overall body of work.
“This Halloween marks a first for me. I’ve been making records for a long time but I have never before released a song written with a festival or a holiday in mind. And yet, this is how Effigy was born,” Tikka says of the new track.
