For the first time since his eponymous debut EP way back in 2015, West Australia’s Jack Runaway has released brand new music. Safe to say, we’ve waited a very long time to hear Ready To Know You.
And it appears the wait was worth it. A singalong ballad written on a single flight (one that’s already stuck in my head), the new tune bodes well indeed for Jack Runaway’s year to come.
Jack Runaway has revealed Ready To Know You, their first new single since 2015 and the first whispers of a brand new EP.
Hailing from Golden Bay, WA, Jack Runaway is the songwriting project of singer and guitarist Christopher Hoskin. The growing ensemble also calls in the talents of drummer Kris Savy, plus multi-instrumentalist Vaughan Wade covering the bass and keys.
Over the years, the band has experimented with various live lineups, casting a spell upon audiences as a solo act, duo or trio. With songs steeped in passion, nostalgia and a finely-tuned sense for groove, it’s easy to see why.
Ready To Know You serves as the very first single from a yet-to-be-named 2019 EP from the band, recorded by Lance Robinson at Pavement Studios. The promise of new music for returning fans has been a long time coming, but if you’re yet to know Jack Runaway, consider this year the time to say hello.
