Hans Zimmer is set to score Dennis Villeneuve’s film adaptation of the iconic sci-fi novel Dune. The French Canadian director has recently become renowned for his films Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.
The highly-anticipated flick, which just started production yesterday, is to be released in November 2020, 55 years after American author Frank Herbert published the novel.
Hans Zimmer is set to score Dennis Villeneuve’s 2020 film adaptation of Dune, a sci-fi novel originally written by Frank Herbert and published in 1965.
The cast of the upcoming film includes Timothy Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and Eric Roth. It’s not Villeneuve and Zimmer’s first time working together either; the pair played director and composer to Blade Runner 2049.
Dune is revered as one of the most influential sci-fi books of all time. Back in January of last year in an interview with FANDOM, Villeneuve even stated:
“Most of the main ideas of Star Wars are coming from Dune so it’s going to be a challenge to (tackle) this. The ambition is to do the Star Wars movie I never saw. In a way, it’s Star Wars for adults. We’ll see.”
