Whispers that the dark shadows of Black Sabbath were planning a final tour in Australia have been floating around for a while now, with the main rumour being that the metal legends would be headlining Soundwave 2016. Although it has been confirmed that the band would not be making an appearance at the festival, they have indeed confirmed a massive run of arena dates all around the country, plus a few stopovers for our mates Down South in New Zealand.
Appropriately titled ‘The End’ tour, the band – that is, three of the original Sabbath lineup: Ozzy, Tony Iomi and Geezer Butler [minus original drummer Bill Ward] – will be making their way through most of the major cities. The band have also released a conclusive statement regarding the tour: “when this tour concludes, it will truly be the end.” Believe it.
