Anti-lockdown protester arrest and eased COVID restrictions, what a day

COVID-19 restrictions will significantly ease and a far-right protester has been charged by counter-terror police. Victoria, you must be exhausted!

It has been a big day. From midnight tonight, COVID restrictions will ease in Victoria as the state is set to pass the 90% fully vaxxed mark. This announcement comes mere hours after counter-terrorism officials stated they have charged a Victorian man who encouraged anti-lockdown protesters to bring guns to State Parliament and execute Premier Dan Andrews.

Since controversial changes to the Victorian pandemic laws have been proposed earlier this week, an anti-pandemic-law protest movement has been drastically growing and the Victorian Police have been quietly making arrests as a part of counter-terrorism efforts.

According to police officials, there have been great revelations that neo-Nazi extremists have infiltrated the movement.

Since the Opposition Leader and other opposing political leaders like Clive Palmer and Craig Kelly have previously given support to these protesters, there will be added pressure to reassure the public that their parties are not affiliated with the neo-Nazis involved.

A spokesperson for the counter-terrorism command has confirmed they have recently charged Melbourne man Imre Pelyva with incitement to manufacture explosives.

Pelyva’s online activity shows that he encouraged protesters at anti-lockdown rallies to “bring out rifles and shotguns!”

“Someone need [sic] to shoot Mr Dan f— in the head with a .50 cal explosive tip! Just to make sure hes [sic] gone for life!” Pelyva wrote.

Pelyva had also been seen posting about protesting outside the Premier’s electorate office and in one response was seen asking if protesters wanted “his proper address”.

Other extremists have also reportedly been sharing the home addresses of members of the state Labor caucus on an encrypted messaging app.

Opposition Leader Matthew Guy has publicly condemned the behaviour of some protesters but defended members of his team that have attended the protests.

“People who have different points of view in this debate should put those points of view respectfully and sensibly. There is no place for extremism of any kind,” Guy said.

These secretive investigations have come to light just in time for today’s big announcement that Victorian COVID-19 restrictions will be almost eradicated tonight after the state has reached the huge milestone of having 90% of the population fully vaccinated.

Victorian restrictions will be lifted almost entirely. Meaning no more capacity limits, no more masks in most places, no density limits and the almost certainly tired people of Victoria can even go for a boogie if they still have the energy.

This wonderful news must be poorly timed for some of the people most bothered by the lockdown and restrictions who won’t be able to enjoy the open streets of Victoria, *cough* Pelyva *cough*.
