If kids go missing in New Jersey, we now know why
Dining at a children’s restaurant feels like a relic from the 90s and early 00s that feels like a mere fever dream.
Decades later, these experiences have become the foundation of new breeds of horror in gaming and movie franchises.
Undoubtedly the leader of the pack is the Five Nights At Freddy’s franchise, which has a mythos equally as confusing and expansive as Norse mythology.
Now people who wish to relive their earliest childhood memories with the added tension of being bitten by an animatronic can do so.
Set for a grand opening in 2027, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and New Jersey’s American Dream retail centre are teaming up to open a real life version of the pizzeria that started it all.
Along with cheesy slices of oven baked goods, fans will get to experience two animatronics shows, arcade games and ‘survival multiplayer game experiences’.
One show will be a main stage event with Freddy and Fazbear Band playing original tracks and possible covers.
The other show will be the infamous Pirate Cove with Foxy.
The project’s creative lead, Atreyu Alcantar, stated that “the only way this experience succeeds is if it’s created by a team that knows [the franchise] inside and out”.
It’s yet to be confirmed which location will be rebuilt.
Will the team recreate the family diner where the iconic Bite Of ’87 took place, or will the checkered floors of the first and second games make its real world debut?
“The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high quality.”
“And above all else, we’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza…we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.”
Hopefully they don’t make it too accurate, otherwise there’ll be a lot of innocent blood on their hands.
