Young Liars

Another week down, and yet another Canadian band rises before our eyes. Will you save some talent for the rest of the world, Canada? Vancouver group Young Liars formed in 2008 and stand today as a four-piece band of musically gifted (and might I add, very attractive) young men. But the goods don’t stop there. With 2 acclaimed EP’s already under their belts, the Young Liars are well on their way to releasing their first full-length album Tidal Wave – due to hit shores near you by July of this year.

Oh look, another cute Canadian indie band. Young Liars are a music mash-up of indie-pop, electronic goodness. Their debut album, Tidal Wave, is due in July.

If you can imagine the sounds of Two Door Cinema Club, Miike Snow, Vampire Weekend and Phoenix thrown into a giant musical blender and spun into oblivion – then your final product would sound more or less like Young Liars. Although their latest single Night Window has only been out a month, it is the type of track that makes you think “damn these guys are good” after only the first listen. Since the band’s humble punk-dance beginnings, Young Liars have gradually reshaped their sound into an infectious indie-electro hybrid that is suitable for just about every occasion thinkable.

Jordan’s creamy, rich vocals layered on top of the soul-stirring guitars and entrancing synth make for a delightful little combo that inspires nothing but happiness… The best kind of music is the type that allows you to feel, and Young Liars have proven that they are capable of doing just that. So before I get too sentimental for my own good, I will stop right here – but I seriously (like, the serious kind of seriously) recommend that you check out these cool-as-a-cucumber-Canadians… And not just because they’re nice to look at.  Have a listen to Night Window and you might even forgive me for the soppiness of this last paragraph. Enjoy hhhhappy people.
