A legend unplugged: Fender launches the American Acoustasonic Stratocaster

Following on from the huge success of last year’s Acoustasonic Telecaster, Fender has unveiled the brand new American Acoustasonic Stratocaster, a flexible range of guitars with shapeshifting acoustic and electric capabilities.

Featuring a fully hollow body and Fender’s Stringed Instrument Resonance System, it shares a similar build with the Acoustasonic Tele, but housed in the iconic Stratocaster silhouette.Fender American Acoustasonic Stratocaster

Adding new flair to an iconic design, the Fender American Acoustasonic Stratocaster is a flexible and familiar acoustic-electric option for fans of the Fender sound.

It also features the Fender and Fishman-designed Acoustic Engine, but Fender has redesigned the voicings available for the Strat, with three electric voices available on the selector switch, alongside some new acoustic options, including short scale and concert body with a slotted headstock.

The Acoustasonic Strat also features three pickup systems to maximise the flexibility and tone of the instrument, including the Fender Noiseless Magnetic pickup, designed to be played solo for an authentic Fender electric tone, or blended with an acoustic voice.

A mahogany Stratocaster neck with an ebony fingerboard rounds out the classic Strat feel with an integrated forearm and back contour. The body is available in five finishes – Transparent Sonic Blue, Black, Natural, Dakota Red, and 3-Color Sunburst.

The Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster will be available from March 2020 and will retail for $3,999AUD. For more information, visit Fender.
