We’re calling Adrian Whitehead’s Nerd From The Suburbs as one of the strongest releases of the year

The Bermuda Triangle. Area 51. Stonehenge. Life is full of unfathomable mysteries, though perhaps the greatest of these is why Melbourne based artist Adrian Whitehead is not yet a universally celebrated name.

Ever since he released his album Nerd From The Suburbs back in March, we’ve been hooked on his unique concoction of sounds. The album is one of those rare gems that could easily slip right past you… but we’re here to make sure that doesn’t happen. This album is too good not to be heard.

Take a stroll through the surreal and cinematic universe of Adrian Whitehead’s Nerd From The Suburbs. We’re calling this as one of the strongest releases of the year.

Throughout the album, Whitehead dances through a hypnotic blend of old-school psych, folk and indie-rock to craft a sound that belongs entirely to himself. He creates a mini-universe that you’ll have no problem losing yourself within.

Across the album’s ten track duration, Whitehead creates something that feels simultaneously warm, heartfelt, cinematic, and boundless. Not once does the album ever feel restricted.

On his new video for the album’s opening track Folie a Deux, Whitehead presents the perfect visual accompaniment for his surreal sounds. It’s slightly deranged but still oddly heartwarming.

Now, in true keeping with album’s vintage sounds, Whitehead has announced a limited vinyl pressing of Nerd From The Suburbs, which you can order here.
