AJ Maddah reveals Tool will NOT be headlining Soundwave 2016

With a single Tweet, Soundwave boss man AJ Maddah has put stop to all rumours that Tool would be headlining the 2016 edition of the festival.

Rumours began flaring just a few weeks back when Maddah cryptically noted that the band set to headline hadn’t played Soundwave before, and they were big enough to make at least one leg of the festival “sell out instantly.” This poised Tool as the prime candidates through a rigorous process of elimination. However, on Friday morning, Maddah received a Tweet from a punter asking “what are the chances of Tool playing SW16,” to which he tersely replied “none.”

Maddah is awaiting the confirmation of two final acts before he can reveal the first lineup, set to consist of 22 bands. He has also ruled out Rage Against The Machine, Pretty Reckless and Dope via Twitter.

To reiterate, SW16 is already shaping up to be pretty massive, with eight acts already confirmed as being part of the 22-strong first lineup, including Bullet For My ValentineBring Me The Horizon, Northlane, RefusedFailure, Dead Letter CircusDevil You Know, and 2006 Eurovision winners, Lordi.
