Stacked with official music videos and live footage, Prince finally has an official Youtube channel

After a lifetime of staying valiantly adverse to any kind of free music streaming, Prince has his very own Youtube channel.

The late superstar’s estate has been in somewhat of a state of flux since his death, but it has meant that his music is now available on a lot of streaming services for the first time.

The day Youtube turned purple: an official Prince channel has appeared online, uploading a slew of old film clips and live performances.

At the moment there are only six videos on the channel, including both the extended and edited official video for When Doves Cry, a live performance of Baby I’m a Star and others.

Let’s hope there are many more in the works. With a few of them already breaking 100,000 plays, I’m assuming the content will keep on coming. Not to mention thousands of fans begging for the next upload in the comments section.

During his lifetime Prince was actively opposed to streaming, even publicly denouncing Youtube at one point. Whether or not you agree upon the means with which these clips are coming our way, it’s never a bad thing to get a little more Prince in your life.
