Glastonbury Festival is back and has announced its 2023 ticket sale details this week, after three long years of covid cancelations.
Good news for music-loving, gumboot-wearing festival goers. The world-famous Glastonbury Festival has returned, and if rumours are to be believed, the Arctic Monkeys look set to be headlining!
While the line-up for Glastonbury 2023 is still under wraps, news has slipped that the Arctic Monkeys will be returning to the Pyramid Stage, a decade after the band made their last appearance at the world-famous festival.
According to The Sun, a close source has revealed that “the band has signed the dotted line, and has already started preparations for the epic gig” next June, and that their set is “going to be bigger and better.” They continue, “the band is in the process of putting together their team and are working on making their performance one of Glastonbury’s most memorable.”
Glastonbury 2023 will mark the band’s third headline performance for the festival: “It is really special for the Arctic Monkeys to be doing a hat-trick on that stage and it is something they have wanted to do for a while. After the festival dates lined up with their upcoming tour they said they couldn’t not play there again.”
Organisers have announced tickets for Glastonbury 2023 will go on sale in early November. The 2023 festival will run from June 23–25, with gates opening on Wednesday, June 21. While no official lineup details has been dropped, Glastonbury boss, Michael Eavis, spoke with BBC Radio and shared that the headliners for 2023 and 2024 are already locked down, saying: “We’ve got all the headliners for the next two years… they’re all in place.”
The Festival’s line-up page currently lists Arctic Monkeys, Elton John, and Harry Styles as headliners for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Glastonbury 2023 respectively, while Roxy Music is slated for the Legends’ Slot.
Glastonbury Festival 2023 tickets will go on sale on Thursday, November 3rd (coach + ticket packages) and Sunday, November 6th (standard tickets).
