Audio-Technica drops limited edition headphones: the ATH-M50x DS

As voted by you, Audio-Technica has dropped the ATH-M50x DS and ATH-M50xBT2 DS. These limited edition Deep Sea finish headphones will please both musician’s and music lovers’ ears and eyes.

Since 2012 Audio-Technica have created limited edition colours of their M Series headphone range and from votes cast by fans of a 2020 poll they landed on a new limited edition colour: Deep Sea – a dramatic dark blue capturing the mysterious depths of water.

The brand new ATH-M50x DS headphones have all the same technical features that have won them ‘lifers’, there’s a Bluetooth version — ATH-M50xBT2 DS — and this colour is subtle and pleasing to the eye.

Audio-Technica has long dominated the headphone world, covering musicians, recording studios and music fans who want to block out the world. But, it’s not all looks with these headphones as they come with some neat accessories and come in at a great price.

Each pair of headphones comes with a pouch, 3 different types of cables — 1.2m-3m coiled, 3m straight, 1.2m straight — and a screw-on 1/4” adapter. Just like the original ATH-M50x’s these also swivel for one-ear monitoring and collapse into themselves so you can fold away and pack them into your fashionable tote bag.

The Deep Sea limited edition colour is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it type of shade, but there’s merit in that, because in the sea of black Audio-Technica M series headphones — like in most good recording studios — you’ll know which ones are yours!

The Bluetooth model comes with the same sonic performance as the original ATH-M50x and there’s dual mics and beamforming technology ensure you have a hassle free phone call. Get yourself the A-T Connect app and you can make EQ adjustments, set them to low-latency mode, change L/R volume balance, select desired voice assistant, and locate misplaced headphones.

Along with all that there’s a huge 50 hours of continuous use on a full charge. The ATH-M50xBT2 DS headphones come with the same aforementioned pouch and a 1.2 m cable with microphone in-built and controls when you are using it in wired mode.
