Aussies are told to stock up on Panadol after NSW’s deadliest day

Apparently, it’s likely that many Australians will contract COVID-19 in the next few days so, what’s the advice? Just pick up some Panadol.

Expect Panadol stocks to rise through the roof after Deputy Chief Medical Officer Michael Kidd issued the ‘warning’ yesterday on NSW’s deadliest day of the pandemic to date with 16 deaths on Sunday.

Kidd suggested people buy as much ibuprofen and paracetamol as possibly in case they test positive for the virus. So let’s hope Woolies are stocking up because you just know that means panic buying.

“With the rising case numbers we’ve seen over the past week in many parts of the country, it’s likely that many of us will test positive for COVID-19 over the coming days and weeks if we haven’t already done so,” he said.

“If you are feeling abnormally weak or tired you may have moderate symptoms and need to seek medical advice.

“Some might become seriously unwell so that’s why it’s important to prevent transmission in places like homes.” Kidd said.

“The first thing to do is to be prepared,” he said.

“My advice is that you make sure you have some paracetamol or ibuprofen at home in case you’re diagnosed with Covid-19.”

Queue the panic buying…

“Paracetamol or ibuprofen can be used to manage fever and aches and pains.” Kidd went on.

“You‘ll need to drink plenty of fluids which can be water, but you may also benefit from using electrolyte powder or solution,”

“It’s important to be prepared because you won’t be able to go to your supermarket or pharmacy if you are diagnosed with Covid-19.”

You also won’t be able to get painkillers if one bloke tells the entire country to run out and get them ASAP.

Australians are pretty annoyed about the comments, especially those that have endured the worst of the COVID symptoms, basically telling the government and the Deputy Chief Medical Officer to piss right off.
