Writer, comedian and cultural icon Betty White has died aged 99.
She truly was a rare cultural icon, an all round legend and cross generational super star who worked well into her nineties. Her long time friend and agent of many years Jeff Witjas was quoted as saying: “Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever!” And for many that knew her that sentiment rang true.
It’s hard to imagine a more exceptional life and though she will be truly missed by friends, family and fans alike, we’re grateful for her contribution to the arts and light she brought. White was only two weeks away from her 100th birthday and celebrations plans were already underway:
My 100th birthday… I cannot believe it is coming up, and People Magazine is celebrating with me! The new issue of @people is available on newsstands nationwide tomorrow. https://t.co/kTQnsbMDGK

More than anything she was known for putting a smile on everyone’s face and at times such as these more than ever we’re reminded how important that is in our lives!
