Every year Byron Bay Bluesfest runs Boomerang, a festival-within-a-festival dedicated to Indigenous arts and culture.
With less than three months left until Bluesfest officially kicks off, the 2019 Boomerang Festival lineup has been revealed. And it’s deadly.
Baker Boy, Yothu Yindi, Mojo Juju and more will join Byron Bay Bluesfest at Boomerang 2019, an Indigenous arts and culture festival from 19-21 April.
Boomerang Festival takes place between the 19th and 21st of April, right in the middle of Bluesfest 2019. This year they’re enlisting the talents of Baker Boy, the legendary Yothu Yindi, rappers Dallas Woods and Dobby, plus a ton more.
Speaking of the Boomerang lineup, Bluesfest director Peter Noble shared:
“Our Indigenous festival within a festival, at Bluesfest, is one of our highlights. It is a musical and sensory delight. We have the best artists and dancers from Australia and surrounding regions.”
“The dance troupes are thrilling and to have a musical showcase presenting the Young Australian of the Year; the incredible Baker Boy, the legendary Archie Roach, Yothu Yindi & the Treaty Project, Mojo Juju, the Mission Songs, Benny Walker and much much more – this is a dream bill for us!”
