When someone starts trying to turn a profit based on fake records under your name, it’s probably a sign that you’ve made it. That doesn’t stop if from being a dick move, though.
Well apparently someone has been running a set of bootleg Tame Impala records, pressing mp3s ripped from their old Myspace page and Youtube to some disgustingly low quality vinyl.
If you see this technicolour bad boy in record stores, be sure not to pick it up. You’re looking at a Tame Impala bootleg, one KP doesn’t approve of.
Reddit user JCapponi posted this picture to r/tameimpala six days ago, which is the first we’d heard of the bootleg. Wasting no time, bandleader Kevin Parker publicly denounced the unofficial LP on Instagram.

Interestingly enough, he also hinted at an official release – something I’m sure we could all get around. But based on how long it took to get the Currents Collectors Edition off the ground, I wouldn’t hold your breath.
