Since forming in 2017, Perth based songwriters, producers and brothers, Jarred Wall and Jon Bullen (otherwise known as Boox Kid), have been developing an incredibly immersive indie-electronic sound.
In August, when they released their debut single Hold My Hand, we were immediately introduced to their shimmering music. It’s the kind of music that floats around your body, leaving you with a wonderful feeling of weightlessness.
With the release of their stunning debut single Hold My Hand, Perth based duo Boox Kid have quickly established themselves as one of the country’s most exciting emerging acts.

Two proud Ngoongar men of the Wardandi Bibbulmun tribe of the South West of Western Australia, Wall and Bullen weave together glassy production with stunning vocal delivery to craft a completely captivating brand of music.
The new single reflects on Wall’s work with youth inside the Department of Justice, exploring themes of hope and compassion.
“I often thought of the many children I had worked with, who grow up in chaos, who have no support, yet craved love, attention and perhaps just that one person to care, to give a damn, to give them a chance,” Wall says of the track.
“It rains true for many young people who face hardship and feel a sense of condemnation and hopelessness – yet sometimes, quite often all they may require, to see some hope of a different future, even if just for a fleeting moment, is someone who truly cares and is willing to lend a hand.”
The result a mesmerising single that holds true lyrical weight. Once you enter into the duo’s immersive soundscapes, you’ll never want to leave.
These are still early days for Boox Kid, but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material from these Perth artists.
