Australian Music Week is back again this year to celebrate genuine music discovery and “good times with damn good people.”
In keeping with tradition, Australian Music Week will be hosting a variety of national and international artists across the electronic, indie, pop, and rock genres all the way through to blues, folk and country. This includes a stellar showcase presented some of Canada’s finest touring artists – all landing in Sydney for your listening pleasure.
Catch a cohort of Canada’s finest at this year’s Australian Music Week, including the eclectic sounds of Hawksley Workman, Mo Kenney, Random Recipe and more.
Amongst the variety of panels and masterclasses, this year the festival will be introducing a Made in Canada Showcase at the Brass Monkey.
Catch Hawksley Workman, Mo Kenney, Random Recipe, Luca Fogale, Adyn Townes and Declan O’Donovan at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla from 4:40pm this Thursday.
Hawksley Workman has had a career spanning at least twenty years and has opened for musical giants like David Bowie and The Cure. A little younger to the music scene, Mo Kenney will be bringing her new album in its dark, introspective magnetism to the stage.
Delight in an aural smorgasbord that is Random Recipe’s blend of hip-hop, folk and electronic, while simultaneously preparing yourself to be impressed by Luca Fogale’s soul-infused vocals.
You’ll also take a ride with Adyn Townes as he ventures into personal, indie-folk territory, and revel in a celebration of life with Declan O’Donovan.
Australian Music Week director, Geoff Trio, says “The Made In Canada showcase is seriously incredible. To see this lineup in Canada, you’d be filling a huge theatre the size of the Enmore or bigger, they are that good! You definitely want to come down to Aus Music Week to catch these awesome Canadian acts live.”
Aside from the music at the conference, there will be panels and masterclasses unpacking the latest music industry issues, with topics ranging from how to stay relevant in the digital age to tackling equal gender representation.
The Made In Canada Showcase takes place on Thursday 8 November at The Brass Monkey in Cronulla, kicking off at 4:30pm. As part of Australian Music Week – grab your tickets here.
