Utter smooth machine Braves are a beach pop indie four piece who hail from Perth town and pump out some solid tracks.
They’ve only got three tracks on rotation at the moment, but already their sound is incredibly developed. Their production is so tight that they actually almost trick you into thinking that this is a band that’s been releasing stuff for years. Teenage Crazy is a straight, roaring indie pop song which puts you in mind of early millennial American pop rock but with an added grittiness that keeps it fresh.
It’s quite hard to sum up this band properly because from an offset it doesn’t seem that they have a completely uniform sound. They don’t really need a uniform sound though as each track stands up it’s own two feet. Imagine Bon Iver in the woods and then imagine him jumping around onstage with Ball Park Music – you might be some way to a Braves track. These guys are definitely going places so watch their faces!
