Just a few days out from the February 5th start date of her tour, Chan Marshall announced that she was unable to embark due to a rare blood illness that causes swelling of some vital organs. The disease known as Hereditary Angiodema is potentially fatal however, it hasn’t effected the touring abilities of Cat Power until now. Nevertheless, Chan Marshall has voiced her joy and excitement in returning to Australia for a string of intimate shows in May that promise to showcase every aspect of her enduring sound that caused the country to fall in love with her all those years ago.
