Chet Faker has been spending some time in Brooklyn as of late, and unfortunately New York is currently the victim of a vicious snow storm. What’s a man to do while stuck indoors due to a blizzard – write tunes I guess.
The instrumental track In-Between features some rather ominous drums and synth work with guitars leading the way through a deluge of buzzing synths and scattering vocal samples. The vocal track belongs to New York City major Bill de Blasio as he details the city’s preparation for the snow storm.
A little different to Chet Faker previous work, the track is super intense, lurking around with the repetitive guitars and dark, exotic rhythms – a pretty accurate sonic reflection of what would have been going on outside the track was being recorded.
The blizzard has ravaged NYC with at least 19 people already having lost their lives. Over two feet of snow has dropped on the city and Washington DC over the weekend, affecting almost 85 million residents.
