De La Soul have kickstarted work on their first album since 2004

De La Soul recently shared the news that they are working on a new album, which will be a Kickstarter-funded release.

The band originally set a target to raise $110,000, but have already smashed this figure after already raising $600,874. The new album will enlist the help of artists like Little Dragon, Snoop Dogg and Estelle, just to name a few, who will all be appearing on tracks. The album is currently being recorded and produced now, and is being mastered by Bob Power. This will be their first album release since they dropped The Grind Date in 2004.
