It’s been quite the build up to the new DIIV album Is the Is Are with two singles already being released, now with a third to sink your teeth into – a harrowing cut called Mire (Grant’s Song).
Speaking about the descision to release another track from the album before it’s release, frontman and bandleader Zachary Cole Smith has said, “I feel like this song represents a really important aspect of this album, and to only represent the ‘pop single’ side of it wouldn’t be fair to the album itself,” taking to the band’s Tumblr page to express his sentiments.
The song, following on from lead singles Dopamine and Bent (Roi’s Song), was premiered on Mexico City’s Ibero 90.0 fm and is now streaming via the band’s label Captured Track. Check it out below!
Is the Is Are is due out February 5th via Captured Tracks. They are also set to play the Laneway Festivals plus a bunch of sideshows in January and February. Head to their website for more details.
