Faith No More are teasing another return

After three years off the road and four years since their comeback album, Sol Invictus, Faith No More seem to be teasing a return.

Having spent the interim looking back at past album anniversaries along with a number of reissues, they posted a mountainous image yesterday with the small comment “pssst…”. The band have also added a countdown to their website which ends on Tuesday, November 26th, so we should be hearing news very soon.

“If something happens, it’ll happen organically and naturally”: Three years after the release of their last album Sol Invictus, it looks like Faith No More are set to return.

Late last year keyboardist Roddy Bottum hinted that a number of the groups members had been recording new material, “I will periodically go to San Francisco and make music with those guys”.

Lead singer Mike Patton, who has been working on numerous side projects since the release of Sol Invictus, previously stated on the radio show Full Metal Jackie’s back in 2017: “If something happens, it’ll happen organically and naturally. But I kind of don’t think it will. I kind of feel like we’ve tipped the scales a little bit. But we’ll see. Who knows? I’ve learned my lesson not to say no.”

Two years on, it looks like the answer might be a resounding yes. Whether this announcement is for a new album, a new single, or tour dates is yet to be seen, but whatever it may be, it should be epic.
