Fan of Nick Cave? Jordie Lane & The Sleepers are your next favourite storytellers, and they’re kicking off a huge Australian tour

Melbourne folk group Jordie Lane & The Sleepers are busting out some huge news lately. Not only have they released Lane’s first music in 5 years, they’re also knocking off a very festival-heavy Aussie tour to celebrate.

GLASSELLLAND, the album which dropped in September, is a delicious offering of local, vocal folk. Echoing gloomy, lyrical contemporaries the likes of Nick Cave and Rufus Wainright, it’s an album that draws you in with it’s poignant, dark storytelling along with a jangling, mid-American rhythm you can’t shake.

Some of Australia’s most engaging storytellers Jordie Lane & The Sleepers, are back from the states and straight into the tour bus. If you can take a tough lyric or two, this is one act you can’t miss.

The tour kicks off at Melbourne’s iconic venue The Corner on the 28th of this month. On the road you can expect to see Didirri playing support nationally, Jess Ribeiro joining Lane in Melbourne, Kat Edwards in Tassie, Sasha March in Adelaide, Richard Cuthbert in Sydney, Stockley in Bulli, and Josh Rennie-Hynes on the Brisbane leg.
