Father John Misty, charismatic preacher for the critical, has announced a live album recorded at Third Man Records, the vinyl Disneyland founded and operated by Jack White.
We like Father John Misty. We like Jack White. This is gonna be good.
For anyone who has attended a Father John Misty show, the promise of a live album is very appealing indeed. Taking place at Third Man Records? That’s icing on the cake.
FJM released his last LP Pure Comedy a few months back, and we’re not embarrassed to say that piece of wax has been spinning in the office a ton. A crafty collection of cynicism pointed at modern culture’s contrivances, it’s one to sit and think on, rather than simply listen.
Given White’s enthusiasm for vinyl (I mean, he pretty much created his own temple to the stuff), I can almost guarantee we’ll see Live at Third Man on the wax. Hopefully Misty’s record isn’t last.
Father John Misty was also announced for St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival last week. Check out the full lineup here, and grab your tickets here.
