Fellow legends Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett have been recording a collab in Melbourne

Aussie favourite Courtney Barnett and American violator Kurt Vile have teased a collaboration before, but recent confirmation from a Melbourne studio has validated the rumours.

Newmarket Studios (who worked with Barnett on the Milk! Records compilation) posted a photo on Instagram few days back with Vile and Barnett, adding that their collaboration “is just the best thing ever”.

What will a Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile collaboration sound like? Thanks to Newmarket Studios, we are going to find out.

Newmarket Studios’ website also lists “Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile forthcoming compilation (Recorded)” amongst their projects.

So what will this collaboration sound like? Each artist has carved for themselves such a distinct style, so it will be interesting to find out how each of the two singer/songwriters come up against the other.
