Vancouver four-piece Calpurnia, fronted by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, have officially signed to Canadian label Royal Mountain Records, the same label responsible for Mac Demarco, PUP, and METZ.
The band are currently recording their debut EP with Twin Peaks frontman Cadien Lake James.
Because he just can’t stop doing cool things, Finn Wolfhard’s band have signed to PUP and Mac Demarco’s Record Label.
In a press statement Wolfhard has praised James, saying: “Not only is he in one of my favourite bands of all time, and recorded some of my favourite songs, but he is also the sweetest guy ever.”
The signing is the latest in an expanding list of cool things Wolfhard has been doing lately.
In addition to starring in the terrifying It, the 14-year-old has recently appeared in music videos for PUP and Spendtime Palace, played on stage alongside his now label-mate Mac Demarco, and covered tracks by Nirvana, New Order and Twin Peaks.
Twin Peaks responded to Calpurnia’s cover of their track Wanted You by tweeting: “Our boy and his band really did the damn thing. Big love Finn, can’t wait to actually meet ya dude.”
The relationship between the band and the label formed when Wolfhard met PUP drummer Michael Craig at on the set of the Sleep In The Heat video.
Wolfhard has expressed excitement towards working with the label: “It is so sweet that we have such a good team at Royal Mountain Records. I love everyone on it.”
There is currently no release date set for Calpurnia’s debut EP.
