Various Artists – Deadly Hearts 2

Ahead of NAIDOC week 2019, the ABC has compiled an album of iconic songs recorded and re-imagined by Australia’s greatest Indigenous artists, after asking them “Which song has spoken most strongly to you about growing up an Indigenous Australian?”

The album features an incredible range of artists including Alice Skye, Electric Fields, Dallas Woods and Radical Son.

Press Club – Thinking About You

Melbourne’s Press Club are back with a new single Thinking About You, a hard hitting tune with emotive lyrics and that garage punk flair which punctuates all their releases.

On top of this, they have announced a new album entitled Wasted Energy, set to be released on August 16th.

Kat Edwards – Good Girl

Hailing from Hobart, Kat Edwards is taking the Australian music scene by storm at just 19 years old. Her latest single Good Girl follows on from her 2017 EP Sunk, an emotive and melancholic song with a killer electric guitar line.

Kat refers to the song as an “internal memoir”, saying:

“I wrote Good Girl after a very pivotal moment in my life. I was feeling frustration towards myself for not doing what was best for me earlier.”

Ok Moon – Hollow Tree

A collaborative project between Dustin Tebbutt, LANKS, Hayden Calnin and Xavier Dunn, Ok Moon is a melting pot of incredibly talented artists, their creative chemistry coming through on their latest single Hollow Tree.

The song is the third single the four piece has released off their upcoming debut album, featuring breathtaking lyricism, subtle production and flawless instrumentation.

Vera Blue- The Way That You Love Me

One of Australia’s favourite artists is back with a new single The Way That You Love Me, a captivating, brooding and infectious electro pop tune. Of the release, Vera Blue said:

“Lyrics inspired by the experiences and behaviours of loving relationships with people coming in and out of my life. A kind of love that can be taken advantage of or returned in ways that might be difficult to understand at the time.”

Lupa J – Swallow Me Whole

Sydney artist Lupa J (aka Imogen Jones) has released her debut album entitled Swallow Me Whole and it’s emotive as ever, bustling with dynamic production and riveting storytelling.

The album is experimental and daring, as she shakes up generic pop music and flaunts an unmatched artistic flair.
